What was the brief?

Social strategy for a global music brand which helps musicians release their tracks on all of the world’s major music streaming and sales platforms

Spinnup Restless Communications

Spinnup is a fast-growing music distribution platform. Established by Universal Music in 2013, it enables musicians all over the world to upload their music just once, to get it distributed across all the major sales and streaming platforms globally.

Artists get to keep 100% of their royalties, and they can also get talent-spotted and signed by Spinnup’s parent-company, Universal Music.

Spinnup asked us to help develop a content and social strategy which could help their central communications team develop content and KPIs which could be adopted and localised by in-country social media teams.

This involved auditing current activities across multiple markets and making recommendations for content and channels in the UK, France, Denmark, Norway, Germany and Sweden.

We recommended a strategy in 2016 which helped Spinnup generate more interest from more artists than ever before.

We have regularly revisited and refreshed that strategy, as the growth continues, and Spinnup prepares to launch in even more countries.

What were the results?

Spinnup’s social engagement, traffic from social, sign-ups and community health are all performing above targets.
